President Zardari issues directives to take all possible steps for the repatriation of Chishty.
President Asif Ali Zardari has directed interior minister Rehman Malik to ensure all arrangements for the homecoming of Dr Khalil Chishty saying that the government will bear all expenses of his arrival to Pakistan.Khalil Chishty ia an 80-year-old scientist who was recently granted bail by the Supreme Court after being given a life sentence in a murder case. According to the interior ministry, directives have also been issued to the Pakistans High Commissioner in India in this regard.Chishty was accused of involvement in the murder of a man during a brawl in Ajmer in April 1992.At the time, Chishty was visiting India to meet relatives and to offer prayers at the Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.In January last year, Chishty was awarded life imprisonment after an 18-year trial.
