DELHI (Web Desk) – Bollywood star John Abraham has said that he will never make films to mislead or influence people politically.

Speaking ahead of the release of his new film "Tehran", John opened up about the challenges surrounding censorship and political sensitivity in Indian cinema.

He emphasised the delicate balance between creative freedom and regulatory frameworks, stating: “I will never make films with the intention of politically influencing or misleading people.”

John revealed that getting approval to screen Tehran in cinemas was a challenge, and he thanked the Ministry of External Affairs for granting permission. While he acknowledged the necessity of a censorship board, he also questioned its current methods.

He added: “I am neither right-wing nor left-wing. I am politically aware, and I aim to be honest in my filmmaking. I’m not in favor of making politically charged or aggressive films for commercial gain—I prefer to stay true to my creative identity.”
