Singer Kehlani outraged by music industry's silence on Israel-Palestine issue

Says putting financial interests before gravity of present situation is unacceptable
(Web Desk) - American singer and song-writer Kehlani recently declared her support for Palestine on social media, criticising her peers in the music industry for remaining silent on the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Kehlani voiced her outrage in an Instagram story, stating, “This has already been said in videos that I’ve reposted, but specifically to my peers and people that are in the spaces that I’m in. What is wrong with you all?”
She conveyed to her peers that putting financial interests before the gravity of the present situation was unacceptable.
The singer further expressed her displeasure with the obvious show of entitlement and privilege prevalent in the entertainment industry.
She said that several people encouraged her to be careful with her words, which led her to question their self-awareness and moral integrity.
“Do y’all hear yourselves? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror today and been like, ‘Am I a decent human being?’ Like, I am off-put. Get real,” the songwriter said.
In addition to her video, Kehlani referred to a report on the unfortunate deaths of children in Gaza as a result of Israeli attacks, asking those silent on the matter to show some empathy.
In a separate post, she commented that there is nothing else more important in the world right now than the Palestine-Israel issue, claiming this is “an everybody issue” and questioning the lack of outrage from her colleagues in the entertainment industry.
