The revenue is generated by selling digital, satellite and music rights of both films
MUMBAI (Web Desk) - The upcoming films of Bollywood's King Shah Rukh Khan, 'Jawaan' and 'Dunki,' have set earning records in terms of non-theatrical rights even before their release.
Indian media claimed that non-theatrical rights of Shah Rukhs's films have been sold for a total of ₹5 billion. The digital, satellite, and music rights of both films have been sold, with 'Jawaan' set for a multi-language release, whereas 'Dunki' only has its Hindi rights sold.
Reports suggest that both films, being the highest-grossing films in terms of such rights, reflect Shah Rukh Khan's popularity and influence on the box office.
Media sources state that the OTT platforms are delighted with the immense popularity of Shah Rukh Khan worldwide, and it is a win-win for all the teams involved.
'Jawaan' is scheduled to release on September 17 this year, while Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki' will grace cinema houses during the festive season of Christmas.
