11 Pakistani cricketers were shortlisted for the IPL but in the end none of them were taken.

MUMBAI (Web Desk) - During the argument over the venue of this year's World Cup and Asia Cup between Pakistan and India, an old video of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is making rounds on the internet in which he is praising Pakistani cricketers.

This video is from 2010 ie 13 years old. At the time of this interview Shah Rukh Khan was the co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders who has been talking about the pressure of being selected for the team.

In the video, King Khan is talking about Pakistani cricketers playing in IPL, saying that Pakistani cricketers are the best T20 players.

Shah Rukh Khan said I wanted to include all-rounder Abdul Razzaq in my team but he was mentioned in newspapers [before entering him into the team]. In the first season of IPL, I had five players including Wasim Akram in my team and I was criticised because many players in the team were Pakistani.

Shah Rukh Khan said 11 Pakistani cricketers were shortlisted for the IPL but in the end none of them were taken.

Calling it a cause of shame, he said, "As the owner of the 'KKR' team, it is a source of shame for me that because of political tensions, we have to cut players from one country's team, who are even the best and hindering them from joining the team.”

At the end of this viral video, he asked the young fans to keep the sport free from politics, end these hatreds and not increase them. Instead of accusing each other, be good neighbours.
