Netflix faces legal action for lewd content about Madhuri Dixit

Legal action will be taken if Netflix does not remove the episode from its platform.

MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Video streaming platform Netflix is facing legal action for airing lewd conversations about Indian actress Madhuri Dixit and Aishwarya Rai.

According to reports, in the first episode of the second season of the famous American sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory', an indecent conversation between two characters of the show related to Madhuri was shown.

Kunal Nayyar, who played the role of Raj Koothrappali in the show, made derogatory remarks about the legendary Indian actress.

Seeing this, Madhuri's fan and author and social activist Mithun Vijay Kumar has sent a legal notice to Netflix.

The notice has demanded that the derogatory scenes shown in the show regarding Madhuri be deleted as the words used are not only unacceptable and disrespectful, but such phrases can be found causing confusion against women characters.

The notice states that legal action will be taken if Netflix does not remove the episode from its platform.

 

It should be noted that in a scene in the first episode, Sheldon Cooper's character, while talking to Raj koothrappali, compares Aishwarya Rai to Madhuri Dixit and says 'Aishwarya Rai is the poor version of Madhavi Dixit.'

In response, a character named Raj koothrappali says, 'Aishwarya Rai is a goddess while Madhuri Dixit…
