With his side-swept hair and pouty lips 14-year-old Cody Simpson was certainly giving old man Bieber, 17, a run for his money on US TV on Friday.The singer, who was also discovered via You Tube had a huge gaggle of screaming girls outside the Rockefeller Plaza in NYC where he was performing on the morning programme The Today Show.Now, at the start of his US tour, hes already been dubbed the new Justin Bieber by US media.I just tweeted and said hey guys come down, Im performing, said Cody when the two hosts gawped at how big his throng was.We hardly ever get a crowd like this, said host Hoda Kotb, who later brought out one exceptionally frantic fan to meet Cody.There was one particular fan who as very emotional, Hoda said as a slim teen called Peyton jumped onto the stage.Yeah sobbing her eyes out, we thought she was going to hyperventilate if we didnt bring her in, said co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.The girl appeared wearing a homemade I Love Cody T-shirt and immediately began sobbing uncontrollably.Dont cry, said Cody, looking slightly uncomfortable.I dont know if you remember me, said the girl between sobs.Weve met before? asked Cody, who was now appearing a trifle concerned.When we were at the PNC Arts Center and I ran up and you held my hand she sniffed before trailing off into inconsolable bawling.I used to feel that way about Paul McCartney, joked Kathy Lee.
