Sonam Kapoor was meant to do JPNA2

The sequel of JPNA is slated to be released on Eid al-Adha.
(Web Desk) – Ever since Modi’s rise in India, ties between Himalayan neighbors have plummeted to record low. With worsening economic woes and the opposition’s uprising, the hatemongering BJP of Modi has left with no other option but to play the card of Hindutva and fuel violence against Muslims.
This policy has affected people from all walks of life in both Pakistan and India and the glittering industry of showbiz has no exemption too. If Indians miss Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan, we too miss likes of Rishi Kapoor and other Bollywood actors.
In yet another such news, JPNA2 writer and actor Vasay Chaudhry told a Pakistani showbiz website that Sonam Kapoor was meant to be part of the film but sudden twist in the ties barred her from doing so.
“The original plan was to shoot this film in India. For this, we even went to Mumbai and did our recce. There was news back then in 2016 that we had offered the film to Rishi Kapoor; that’s true. But, what a lot of people don’t know is that we also met Anupam Kher back then, who – while I was really apprehensive of taking into our film given that his wife [Kirron Kher] was a BJP MLA – was really kind to us and heard the script. However, unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worse [Uri attacks happened]” stated Vasay.
He went on to say, “We contacted Sonam’s team and had sent her the script as well but unfortunately the process had to come to a halt because just three weeks after our visit to India, Uri attacks happened that put a huge strain in India-Pakistan relationship”.
The sequel of JPNA is slated to be released on Eid al-Adha this year. It would be suffice here to say that first installment had minted record money at the ticket-window. Till date, the movie is highest Pakistani grosser with collection well over Rs550 mln.
Below is the trailer of second installment.
