(Web Desk) – Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is reportedly receiving a huge sum of money to host the upcoming season of popular TV game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

According to Indian reports, the ‘Pink’ actor is receiving at least 2 crore Indian rupees for every episode of the big budget programme. Some rumours even suggest that the amount is around 2.75 to 3 crore Indian rupees.

The private Indian channel that will air the show has agreed to Amitabh Bachchan’s bulky demands. The first few seasons of the show were hosted by the veteran star himself before being replaced by Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan in the middle once.

Speculations claim Bachchan’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and another popular Indian actress Madhuri Dixit were offered to host the show, but it was later decided that season 9 will again be hosted by the 74-year-old actor.

The Indian quiz game show had started in 2000 and has completed 14 years. The shooting of season 9 of Kaun Banega Crorepati will start in August and conclude in September. Amitabh Bachchan has hosted the show seven times out of eight. Only the season 3 was executed by Shah Rukh Khan.
