Shooting of Saba Qamar's 'Hindi Medium' postponed
The actress is starring opposite Irrfan Khan in the movie.
MUMBAI (Dunya News) – Shooting of Pakistani actress Saba Qamar’s debut film in Bollywood ‘Hindi Medium’ has been halted for an indefinite period.
The actress is starring opposite Irrfan Khan in the movie which is being directed by Saket Chaudhry.
The film revolves around the lives of a middle-class couple settled in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Saba plays Irrfan’s imposing and chirpy wife.
The movie has been postponed amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and India following the Uri attack.
In the aftermath of the incident, Pakistani artists have also been banned by the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) from working in India.
Besides this, the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India (COEAI) have also announced that Indian films having Pakistani artists will not be screened in the cinemas.
The movies affected by the ban are Fawad’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and Mahira Khan’s ‘Raees’.
