The trailer, released by Rovio and Sony, offers a glimpse of the various comedic moments in the movie that will take the audience in a world of laughter.
The movie is based on Rovio’s incredibly popular bird-flinging franchise, which quickly became a cultural phenomenon following its mobile debut in 2009. The 3D animated film stars a trio of outcast birds include Red (Jason Sudeikis), speedy Chuck (Josh Gad) and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride).
The film also features a number of other all-star voice actors, including Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph and Peter Dinklage, as well as Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz and Hannibal Buress.
In its various formats, the Angry Birds game has been downloaded over two billion times as of this year, with an animated series “Angry Birds Toons” that has collectively tallied three-billion views on numerous platforms.
Written by “The Simpsons” alum Jon Vitti and directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, The Angry Birds Movie is set to debut in the US on May 20, 2016.
