Teenage girl killed in aerial firing by wedding reveller

GUJRANWALA (Dunya News) – A teenage girl was killed after receiving bullet in the head while standing in balcony to observe a wedding ceremony in Gujranwala on Friday.
The incident took place in Sabzi Mandi area of the city when a girl was caught in the line of fire while standing at balcony to observe wedding festivities. The victim’s brother said a friend of bridegroom resorted to aerial firing during the wedding.
The suspect was barred from firing but he remained adamant and fired another shot that hit the victim in her head. As a result, the girl died on the spot. She was identified as Gulshan Bibi.
On being informed, police teams arrived at the scene to collect evidence but the suspect fled. Police took the dead body of the victim into custody and shifted it to hospital for further legal procedure.
Police said a case regarding the incident had been registered and the suspect would be behind the bars soon.
