Punjab IGP takes notice of teenager's mysterious death in Lahore

The victim's mother said she saw torture marks on the body contrary to the electrocution claim

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A controversy emerged regarding the death of a teenager his body was recovered from the rooftop of a commercial plaza in Defence C area of Lahore on late Tuesday. 

Fourteen-year-old Usman was found from the rooftop of a plaza in the commercial area.

The victim's mother was initially told that the boy was electrocuted, whereas she claimed that there had been clear torture marks on the body of her son. A case was registered on the complaint of victim’s uncle Sufyan.

According to initial details, Usman went to buy mangoes from a nearby market on Saturday but didn't return home. After the incident was reported the local police arrived at the scene and started gathering evidence. Police said the postmortem report would ascertain the actual cause of death.

Punjab IGP Dr Usman Anwar took notice of the incident and sought a report from the CCPO Lahore. The IGP ordered police to utilise all the available resources to trace the murderer(s) in case if the teenager had been killed.
