Bank’s guard connives in robbery worth Rs 5million

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Robbers looted Rs 5million from the owner of a private company on the basis of information provided by the bank’s security guard, the guard revealed on Saturday.

Reports said that, as Imtiaz Ahmad reached his office after withdrawing the money from his bank at the FTC building situated on Shahrah-e-Faisal, three robbers on two motorbikes snatched money from him on gun point and fled.

Tracking down the accused, the police discovered that the bank’s security supervisor had informed Shahid, leader of the robbers, about the withdrawal as he had offered him [guard] attractive sum over the information. Though the sum was Rs 5million, Shahid claimed it was Rs. 2million. However, when the guard called him to demand his share, he powered his mobile phone off. Shahid is believed to belong to a political party.

The police have taken the security guard in custody.
