Some players reportedly left an event without even group photo at local mall in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Some players were reported to leave an event in private shopping mall early without even group photo after expressing dissatisfaction over captain Sarfraz Ahmed and batsman Fakhar Zaman receiving higher cash prizes than them.
A renowned shopping mall hosted an event for the honour of ICC Champions Trophy 2017 triumphant Pakistan team where players in the squad were invited. As soon as the cash prize amounts for cricketers were revealed, some players became disgruntled with their comparatively lower rewards.
These players not only left the ceremony early but also avoided participating in the group photo. Skipper Sarfraz was given one kanal plot while Zaman received Rs. 0.5 million. On the other hand, the rest of the players received Rs. 0.2 million each which was apparently too low for certain cricketers.
The players refused to accept their cash prizes and left the event. No comments have yet come from the organizers. Sources confirmed the incident and told it is highly unlikely that these players crashed out early all at once.
