Pakistan shortlist 16 players for World XI T20s

All three T20 matches will be played during September in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced 16 players that have been shortlisted for T20 matches against World XI in September.

Sarfraz Ahmed is the obvious candidate for captaincy while Sohail Khan, Amir Jamil, Usman Shenwari and Fahim Ashraf have also made their way into the shortlisted cricketers.

World XI will tour Pakistan in September and the three-match T20 series is scheduled for September 12, 13 and 15. Faf du Plessis will captain the side with the likes of Grant Elliott, Tamim Iqbal, Thisara Perera, George Bailey, David Miller, Morne Morkel, Tim Paine Imran Tahir, Hashim Amla and others. The green shirts have dropped some senior players from the list. Wahab Riaz, Kamran Akmal and Sohail Tanvir couldn’t secure their players in the 16-member team.

Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Muhammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Shahzaib, Hassan Ali and Rumman Raees have also been picked for World XI series. The players who showed prolific form in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 triumph have been retained in the side.
