Ex-cricketers give tips to Pakistan before England clash
Sarfraz Nawaz has urged Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to bowl first against England.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former Test cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz has urged Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed to bowl first in the semifinal of Champions Trophy against hosts England if there are no chances of rain.
The fast bowler said Pakistan have to play the match without any pressure to ensure the victory, and weaknesses of batting lineup must be sorted out.
Former captain Mohammad Yousuf said Pakistan need to work on their middle order, as the batting is in danger zone. Satisfied with the bowling attack, Yousuf said if Pakistan’s poor batting continues then they will face a lot of difficulties in the 2019 World Cup.
Speedstar Shoaib Akhtar said both Babar Azam and Mohammad Hafeez take a lot of time to settle at the crease, and need to improve their technique as they put the whole batting under pressure by doing that.
Akhtar said Pakistan have to stop playing cricket of 1990s because the players of other teams are full of aggression these days, who start thrashing the bowlers right from the beginning. He remarked that other teams are way ahead of Pakistan at the moment in batting.
Shoaib further added that it is not that Pakistan batsmen lack talent, they just need to learn how to adapt themselves according to the modern game. He also said that the status of Hafeez in the team has been limited just to a bowling all-rounder.
Pakistan’s most successful Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq remarked that the Green Shirts won against Sri Lanka not because of their performance, but just due to nation’s prayers.
