An increase of 10 rupees per kg has been witnessed in the utility stores, Dunya News reported on Monday. Sugar would now be sold at 65 rupes per kg at all utility stores.Talking in a press cnference in Islamabad, the MD of Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan Arif Khan said that a subsidy of 10 rupees per kg is included in the sugar-sale at the utility stores. He also said that nationa identity card numbers of sugar-buyers would be written at the utility stores while 2 kg and 5 kg packets of the commodity would be available on the stores. The monthly supply of sugar at the utility stores is 35,000-40,000 metric tonnes which would be doubled according to MD Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan. The MD also saidf that strict action would be taken agaisnt those involed in black-marketing of sugar.
