Gallup survey shows 61 percent across 58 countries view Benjamin Netanyahu negatively, with sharp rise since 2019; criticism linked to Gaza operations and Palestinian policies.
(Web Desk) - A new survey by Gallup has ranked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among the most unpopular global leaders across 58 countries, including the United States.
According to international media reports, overall unfavorable views of Netanyahu have increased by 20 percentage points since 2019, reflecting a significant shift in global public opinion.
The survey found that 61 percent of respondents across 58 nations, including countries in Europe and North America, expressed negative views about the Israeli premier.
In Iran, 98 percent of respondents described Netanyahu unfavorably. In the United Kingdom, 52 percent expressed open dislike, while in the United States, 42 percent reported negative opinions. Pakistan also recorded a majority holding unfavorable views.
However, the survey showed comparatively favorable perceptions in some countries. In Azerbaijan and Kenya, 58 percent of respondents expressed support for Netanyahu, while in India, 50 percent held a positive opinion.
Analysts attribute the sharp decline in his global popularity to criticism over Israel’s actions against Palestinians and alleged human rights violations in Gaza. These factors are widely seen as key drivers behind the growing international disapproval.
