Trump will cause more troubles for Pakistani-Americans: Boston University professor Dr Adil Najam
He suggested that Pakistanis should play their role in US society and build their status in it.
NEW YORK (Dunya News) - Renowned intellectual and Boston University Professor Dr Adil Najam has said that Donald Trump’s government is not good for Pakistani-Americans as it will bring more troubles for them.
He suggested that Pakistanis should play their role in US society and build their status in it.
“Pakistanis are worried and they should be as the situation in US is quite tense. The immigrants are under the scanner especially Muslims. But I think that Pakistanis should participate in the community on the fore front and should not hide themselves,” said the professor.
When asked whether Trump’s government will be tough for Pakistan, he replied, “US will be the same for Pakistan as it was before but the present government will be sturdy for the Pakistani-Americans. The environment here as become doubtful and frightening especially for Muslim immigrants and Pakistanis.”
While answering about the kind of role and involvement Pakistani-Americans should have in US society, Dr Adil Najam recommended, “The most important thing is that we should be visible in the community. We should support those communities which are in a worrisome state because we also need them to take a stand for us in future.”
