According to Guinness World Records, Nathan Thomas of the United States became the world's youngest college professor at the age of 18 years and 346 days.
Thomas began teaching at Miami Dade College in Florida in August 2023.
His extraordinary academic journey started early, as he enrolled at the college when he was only 10 years old due to his exceptional intellectual abilities.
Now 21 years old, Thomas broke a record that had stood for 306 years.

The previous record for the youngest male professor belonged to Scottish mathematician Colin Maclaurin, who became a professor at the age of 19.
Among women, the record was set in 2008 by Alia Sabur, who became a professor at 18 years and 362 days—16 days older than Thomas when he achieved the distinction.
Thomas continued to accelerate through his education, enrolling at Florida International University at the age of 14.
By 18, he had earned a master's degree in electrical engineering.
Today, he teaches online courses while pursuing a PhD at the University of Miami School of Law.
Thomas has said that he plans to build his career in the field of intellectual property law.
