South Sudan: Journalist detained over filming president 'wet himself'
(Web Desk) - Salva Kiir Mayardit, the 71-year-old leader of the North African nation, was caught on live television urinating in his pants, which was embarrassing for South Sudan.
The incident happened on December 13 of last year when he went to open a recently built road. He was caught peeing in his trousers while the national anthem was playing.
Social media is being flooded with videos of the incident. Salva Kiir Mayardit has served as South Sudan s president since the country earned its independence in July 2011.
Six journalists who work for the national broadcaster "South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation" were detained by security personnel on Tuesday (January 3). The scribes were charged with disseminating the embarrassing video of the president of South Sudan.
