(Web Desk) - Google has launched “Family Link”, an application for parents that let them control the mobile devices of their children.

Family Link lets parents to create a Google Account for kids under 13, which can be monitored and locked down.

Parents can also see usage times for apps and total screen-on time, and they can set bedtime limits or total usage limits.

Before this app, all the major mobile device providers like Apple, Google, and Amazon included parental controls on their devices but ‘Family Link’ is different because it’s a two-party system.

For the system to work, app requires that both parent and child use Android phones. The parent will first download the mobile app to their own device to control minors’ internet surfing.

This will be a test with a limited audience before making the app broadly available. Family Link is available for Android but not available on iOS at this time.
