Summary Pakistan foils a Fitna al-Khawarij infiltration attempt in Kurram as security forces retaliate against Afghan Taliban firing and damage border posts.
KURRAM (Dunya News) – Security forces have foiled an infiltration attempt by a terrorist group identified as Fitna al-Khawarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Kurram district, destroying Afghan Taliban border posts in a retaliatory operation following cross-border firing.
According to security sources, a terrorist formation belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij attempted to enter Pakistani territory through the Shalozan sector of Kurram on Thursday. Security forces responded promptly, thwarting the infiltration attempt before the militants could cross into Pakistan.
The sources said Afghan Taliban forces opened what they described as unprovoked fire on Pakistani troops after the attempted infiltration was intercepted, triggering an immediate response from the Pakistani side.
Security forces launched a strong retaliatory operation, deploying heavy weapons against the positions from which the firing originated.
The response inflicted significant damage on Afghan Taliban border posts, according to security sources, who said the Pakistani forces successfully repelled the attempted infiltration and effectively responded to the cross-border aggression.
The latest incident comes amid continuing security concerns along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier, where militant infiltration attempts and cross-border exchanges of fire have remained major challenges for border security.
