LAHORE (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said regional tensions have caused a global energy crisis.
Addressing the Future of Finance Summit 2026 in Lahore, he said Pakistan played an important role in preventing a third world war.
He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, Iran and the United States agreed to negotiations after 47 years.
Ishaq Dar said the summit would help promote good governance, transparency and stronger institutions in South Asia.
He added that economic stability is only possible through reforms, while modern technology is bringing revolutionary changes across all sectors.
The deputy prime minister further said sustainable development can be achieved through planning and transparency, adding that the government is implementing a reform agenda under the prime minister’s leadership.
He said government measures have helped restore investor confidence in Pakistan.
