BEIJING (Web Desk) - China has welcomed Pakistan’s efforts in securing a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said during a press briefing that China supports mediation efforts by Pakistan and other countries, and added that Beijing itself played a constructive role in promoting the Iran-US ceasefire.
Mao Ning emphasized that China has always advocated resolving conflicts through political and diplomatic means rather than military operations. She highlighted that the aim is to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
Saudi Arabia also praised Pakistan’s role in promoting the ceasefire. A spokesperson for the Saudi Foreign Ministry said they support Pakistan’s efforts to achieve sustainable peace and a permanent ceasefire, and welcomed the announcements made by the US President and Pakistan’s Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, UAE Presidential Adviser Anwar Gargash stated that the United Arab Emirates successfully avoided a war it sought to prevent, defending its sovereignty, dignity, and achievements. He added that the UAE continues to advance with strength, resilience, and stability amid a complex regional landscape.
