The 3,000-tonne vessel is equipped with advanced sensors and modern weapon systems. It is part of an agreement with China Shipbuilding & Offshore International Company Ltd for eight Hangor-class submarines, four of which are being built in China and the remainder at Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd under a transfer of technology programme.
