LAHORE (Dunya News) – In response to intense storms and cloudbursts reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern regions of the country, a high alert has been issued across Punjab.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has directed all Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to remain on high alert due to the worsening weather conditions. All districts have been instructed to stay vigilant.

According to the Director General of PDMA Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, the new monsoon spell is considerably stronger, with forecasts predicting torrential rainfall. He emphasized the need for 24-hour monitoring of rivers, streams, and low-lying areas.

DG Kathia stated that PDMA Punjab is in constant contact with the Provincial Emergency Control Room and District Emergency Operation Centers. Weather reports suggest that most districts in Punjab could experience severe rainfall within the next 24 hours.
