ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to combat terrorism in all forms during a high-level counterterrorism dialogue with Pakistan, following its recent designation of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Majeed Brigade as foreign terrorist organizations.

According to a statement from the US Embassy in Islamabad, Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism Gregory LoGerfo and Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker led the US delegation in the talks, which focused on reinforcing bilateral efforts to address what was described as a “global threat.”

The meeting came just a day after the US toughened its stance against the BLA by moving it from a “specially designated global terrorist” group to a foreign terrorist organization, following a series of deadly attacks claimed by the outfit.

The dialogue underscores growing cooperation between the two countries. Earlier this year, Pakistan extradited Sharifullah, also known as Jafar — a member of Daesh-K — who was linked to the 2021 Kabul airport bombing that killed 13 US troops and over 170 Afghans. Former US President Donald Trump publicly thanked Pakistan for the arrest.
