Joint parliamentary party meeting: PML-N, PPP fail to muster required numbers

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) faced embarrassment in joint parliamentary party meeting after the two parties failed to meet required numbers.

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), which wants change in Punjab, contrary to their claims failed to complete the numbers of its members in the meeting of the joint parliamentary party following which it had to face abashment.

Sources privy to the development said that more than 145 members of the PML-N and only two members of the PPP attended the meeting. Syed Hassan Murtaza and former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani of the PPP attended the meeting.

Despite being repeated directions by the leadership of the both the parties to their members to attend the parliamentary party meeting, five members of the PPP were missing. The PML-N felt dejected seeing low number of attendance.
