Sindh govt extends coronavirus restrictions for two weeks
All recreational spots including sea view and parks will be closed for another 14 days.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Keeping in view current situation of Sindh, provincial government has extended coronavirus related restrictions for another two weeks.
Anti-coronavirus Task Force, under the chair of Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, has also decided to extend closure of schools and other educational institutions till June 6.
The meeting also agreed to reduce market hours to 6pm while keeping all recreational spots including sea view and parks closed for another 14 days.
Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Saturday also directed the federal and the provincial governments to keep the educational institutions closed till June 6 in COVID-19 hotspot districts.
It merits mention that Pakistan has reported 88 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 897,468. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 20,177 on Saturday.
According to the latest figures by the NCOC 4,007 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths and cases followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 9,739 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,891 in Sindh, 3,900 in KP, 744 in Islamabad, 526 in Azad Kashmir, 270 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.
