We have to fight for supremacy of Constitution, democracy: Bilawal

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said that we have to fight for the rule of the people, true democracy and supremacy of the Constitution in the country.
Addressing the second power show of the 11-party opposition alliance PDM in Karachi on Sunday, he said that all the democratic powers of Pakistan have to fight this war, adding that the institutions that can safeguard the rights of people are being hollowed out one by one.
The PPP chairman said that the guarantee of freedom to live with dignity is the democratic system, adding pressure on the judiciary, ban on the media and speaking in parliament are not allowed. All those democratic voices that speak out against the government s fascist regime are being muzzled under this selected prime minister [Imran Khan], he said.
He said that people of Punjab were being mocked by appointing a dummy chief minister, adding that Sindh was not given Rs 300 billion of NFC award, he said.
Bilawal went on to say that attempts were being made to rob the rights of Sindh. “The islands of Sindh belong to one s father and will not be allowed to be occupied,” he said.
In his statement on 13th anniversary of Karsaz bombings, he paid tribute to martyrs of the bombing and said that workers of PPP embraced martyrdom for supremacy of constitution and democracy.

Bilawal, while responding to statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan, said that movement will continue despite threats from Imran Khan. The movement to get rid of the incumbent government will succeed, he said.
Opposition leaders including Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maryam Nawaz, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Mohsin Dawar on Sunday arrived at Karachi’s Bagh-e-Jinnah for the second power show of the joint opposition front Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) against Prime Minister Imran Khan-led government.
Thousands of people assembled for the anti-government rally. People were seen waving opposition parties flag and raising slogans. This was the second power show of the 11-party opposition alliance PDM. The first was held in Gujranwala in Lahore.
Around 160 feet long and 60 feet wide stage had been placed in Karachi’s Jinnah Bagh while over 50,000 chairs have also been arranged to facilitate the participants.
