ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday while expressing concern said that India can stage a drama to divert attention of the world from occupied Kashmir.
Speaking exclusively to Dunya News on Monday, he said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi s policy is the ideology of extremist Hindu party Rashtriya Swayamsevak Singh (RSS), adding that he has made a historic mistake over Kashmir issue.
Qureshi went on to say that Indian PM Modi tried to give the impression during his meeting with the US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, that the situation in Kashmir was under control but Trump asked if the issue was bilateral why was it not resolved for 70 years.
To a question regarding the prime minister’s address to the nation, he said that Imran Khan apprised the nation about current situation and said that he would be an ambassador of Kashmiris around the world.
The foreign minister further said: “Every week solidarity will be expressed with the Kashmiris, adding that on August 30 between 12:00 to 12:30 pm, whole nation will stage protest wherever it may be, while all foreign office personnel will unite on Friday to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.
Earlier addressing a function in Islamabad on Monday, Qureshi said that human rights of innocent Kashmiris have been completely usurped by India.
He said 22 days day or 528 hours of day and night curfew have passed and 12 million innocent people have been brutally cut off from world through modern iron curtain and draconian laws imposed by Indian security forces.
The minister said the ruthless Indian occupation and siege of Indian occupied Kashmir continues unabated and there is a complete ban on media and communication in IOK.
"This blatant attempt to change the demography of the held territory contravenes the relevant UN resolutions on Kashmir," he said .
