Babar Awan appeals ATC to remove terrorism clauses from Imran's cases
Imran Khan asked the court whether protesting to fulfill the demands comes under terrorism.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Lawyer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan, Babar Awan on Monday has appealed Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) to remove terrorism clauses from all four cases against his client.
Imran khan appeared before ATC in the cases pertaining to attacks on PTV and parliament, torture on SSP Asmatullah Junejo and forcefully releasing workers from police station. During the hearing headed by ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjum, Imran Khan asked whether protesting to fulfill the demands comes under terrorism.
While defending his client, Babar Awan said that these case don’t fall in the clauses of terrorism, therefore, he requested to remove them.
Babar Awan said that federal government omitted terrorism cases against the protesters of Faizabad sit-in after making deal. Judge Shahrukh Arjumand remarked that the cases have not been terminated, and the accused are just set free on bails.

Earlier, ATC extended Imran Khan’s bail in four cases till December 11. PTI chief requested the court to send the cases to session court after challenging the terrorism clauses. He opted the stance that he was protesting along with his party for his rights.
Earlier on November 14, Imran Khan had appeared before Islamabad High Court (IHC) after a time span of one and a half year during which he was granted bail in all four cases.
The court accepted Khan’s bail in aforementioned cases over surety bonds of Rs2 lac each and directed him to also submit guarantee of two people in this regard.
