Summary PPP to support the bill only after its clearance from Council of Common Interests

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid presented constitutional amendment bill for delimitation of constituencies on Thursday that was met with uproar in National Assembly.

PPP’s Naveed Qamar objected that the bill would have to be passed first in the Council of Common Interests before it enjoys any support from the members belonging to PPP.

PTI members in the National Assembly also demanded that the security concerns of PPP should be considered regarding the support of the bill.

Two third majority to pass the bill in National Assembly was also absent in the house and so the meeting was postponed.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq later met senior PPP leaders Naveed Qamar and Khurshid Shah to ask them to reconsider the matter but they did not agree.
