RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The visit underscored ongoing high-level military engagement between Pakistan and Bahrain. Discussions centred on regional security dynamics, shared strategic interests, and expanding avenues of defence collaboration.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries, reaffirming commitment to strengthening military-to-military cooperation across multiple domains.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Bahraini commander reviewed the evolving regional security environment and exchanged perspectives on defence challenges. Emphasis was placed on enhancing coordination in training, operational collaboration, and institutional linkages between the two armed forces.
The Bahraini leadership acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and highlighted the importance of sustained engagement in defence and security partnerships.
Earlier engagements also included separate meetings with senior service chiefs in Islamabad, reflecting a broader programme of tri-service interaction during the visit.
At Naval Headquarters, General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, where discussions focused on bilateral maritime security cooperation and regional naval dynamics. The Bahraini commander commended the Pakistan Navy for its constructive role in advancing cooperative maritime security and its contribution as a stabilising force in the region.
At Air Headquarters, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu engaged with the visiting commander on Pakistan Air Force’s ongoing modernisation drive. The briefing highlighted capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenisation initiatives, and reforms in advanced training systems.
Both sides also discussed emerging defence technologies, including drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors, digital innovation, and integrated air defence architectures. The Bahraini commander appreciated the professionalism and operational readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces, expressing interest in expanding cooperation in training, emerging technologies, and capacity-building initiatives.
