PPP top brass sits in Islamabad to discuss opposition leader's replacement bid

Summary Shah told Zardari that he was confident that the people’s party has all the support

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardari has chaired a meeting of senior members of Pakistan People’s Party on Friday (September 29) and discussed the issue regarding opposition leader Khurshid Shah’s replacement bid by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

The meeting was attended by spokesperson for the party Farhatullah Babar, Nayyar Bukhari, former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira and Khursheed Shah among others.

The participants discussed parties’ bid to replace Khursheed Shah among other political and state affairs. Reportedly, the recent alliance between Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was also discussed in the Zardari-led meeting.

Shah told Zardari that he was confident that the people’s party has all the support.

Sources privy to the political party have reported that the attendees discussed appointment of National Accountability Bureau chairman as well.

Co-chairman of the people’s party directed Shah to put recommend names of potential NAB chiefs after deliberating over the matter with opposition parties.

While addressing the media about the media, Kaira said that those who wish to replace PPP’s opposition leader in the National Assembly should take care of the number game in the parliament and follow the constitutional path.

Earlier this week, Zardari arrived in Pakistan from Dubai to discuss opposition leader’s matter with party’s leadership.
