Summary The businesses threatened PM of cutting back investment and flight of capital to foreign countries.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Significant government sources on Wednesday revealed that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif was forced to speak against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) only on the complaints of big business groups. The revelations came during the Dunya News program ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath’.
According to the details, irked by the investigative actions of NAB, these influential business groups having shares of up to 50 to 60% in the country’s stock market had threatened the PM of cutting back investment and flight of capital to foreign countries while complaining incessantly about NAB’s alleged harassment.
According to the sources, NAB had kept the CEO of an influential business group under custody for 2 days in Peshawar for certain violations. The CEO was only released upon intervention by the PM.
2 other major business companies are not pleased with NAB and have already complained to the PM.
Meanwhile Member National Assembly (MNA) also lambasted NAB. He stated that 8 high officials of NAB were dismissed due to corruption charges. He stated that the government does not want accountability like that being practiced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Major investment groups have also expressed their displeasure over actions of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as well.
