Meanwhile in Karachi, the parks of the city are still in shambles despite Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad’s clear instructions to improve their state. The governor had given clear instructions in this regard but they seem to have fallen on deaf ears, reported Dunya News.

The once lush green public parks of the country’s major city are in shambles. Most of these parks, including Ibn-e-Qasim Park, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Park, Lake (Jheel) Park and many others, have lost their charm due to negligence of the authorities.

Sindh Governor was intimated about the issue on Dunya News’ Programme Aaj Kamran Khan Kay Saath but even his personal visits to these parks along with clear instructions to the authorities to pull up their socks and bring these gardens back to life seem to be useless.

Drug addicts and stray dogs are a common sight in these ill-fated parks of Karachi as the locals have almost abandoned their visits to these public areas. All that is left in these unattended gardens are broken walls, jogging tracks in horrible state, dead trees and an abundance of withered grass.
