Summary

A special anti-terror court of Rawalpindi issued notices to an Indian Magistrate and a police investigation officer who recorded Ajmal Kasavs testimony in Mumbai attack case on Monday. Special Public Prosecutor requested to the anti-terror court to summon Indian magistrate R V Sawant Waghule and IO Ramesh Mahale who recorded the confession to testify in the said case. The petitioner contended that as per the testimony of Mumbai accused Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and other accused have been identified and as such the testimony of IO and Magistrate who recorded Ajmal Kasavs statement is needed. The court adjourned the case till August 28. Lakhvi and the six other suspects have been charged with planning and facilitating the attacks in India's financial hub that killed 166 people in November 2008. An Indian anti-terrorism court has already convicted Kasab for his role in the carnage and sentenced him to death.
