PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi has said that the government should donate Rs 5 lac each to the flood victims. Talking to Dunya News during a visit to Ghazi Khan, a flood-hit area of Dera Ghazi Khan, on Monday, Elahi lamented that Punjab government embezzled billions of rupees in Sasti Roti scheme while now when the people are in dire need, those at helm are doing nothing. He said the plight of the flood affectees is credence to the mismanagement of the Shahbaz government. He called upon the government to estimate the losses inflicted by the calamity to cope up with the situation. He said instead of blame game the government should come forwards to rescue those badly hit by the floods. Dunya TelethonDunya News aired a special two-day telethon on Saturday to highlight aftermath of the natural disaster hitting the country and to assure the flood-stricken people that the channel stands by them in their miseries.Dunya News teams covered flood devastation besides the rehabilitation efforts being made by the concerned departments. A true picture was brought to the people to show what had been and should be done for the rehabilitation of those hit-hard by the deluge. The transmission showed the areas under flood threat, and called upon public representatives to awake to the public woes invoking them with a new spirit.
