Summary JI delegation met provincial election commissioner, expressed serious concerns over appointments

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) has alleged provincial election commissioner of Sindh on Monday of appointing polling officers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) choice for NA-246 by-election, reported Dunya News.

In a meeting with provincial election commissioner Tanvir Zaki, JI delegation, led by Emir JI Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, expressed serious concerns about irregularities and constant violation of the code of conduct. JI alleged that election commission was appointing polling officers of MQM’s choice but the other candidates were not being provided with the list of polling officers.

Hafiz Naeem said that MQM had gotten hold of 25,000 fake National Id Cards. He said that polling scheme was of MQM’s choice and it had not been changed despite concerns. He said that the voters’ list was also prepared by MQM and Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) had already declared it as fake.

Election commission did not take any action, said Naeem. He claimed that Imran Ismail, candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from this constituency, will soon withdraw in JI’s favor.
