QUETTA (Dunya News)— President Mamnoon Hussain said on Thursday that terrorists have no religion and the government is determined to root out the menace of terrorism from the country. He also assured protection of the rights of minority communities in the country.
President Mamnoon Hussain addressed an event on the eve of Christmas in Quetta on Thursday where he remarked that the minority communities have full freedom and right to celebrate their festivals in Pakistan.
He added by saying that whether it’s the teachings of Jesus Christ or the ideas promoted by Quaid-e-Azam, the purpose is to give a message of harmony and accord. He remembered Jinnah’s address to the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan where he had clearly stated that we are all equal citizens of one state irrespective of religion, cast, color or creed.
He affirmed that the terrorists who are threatening the peace in the country will soon be eliminated. The recent Peshawar carnage can’t be forgotten, killing of innocent children is a blow to humanity, said President Mamnoon Hussain.
On this occasion, the Christian community of Quetta offered special prayers for peace in the country. The security had been tightened at all the churches in Quetta on the eve of Christmas. A heavy contingent of police and FC were deployed to ensure security following the blast on Prince Road in Quetta which took place yesterday leaving at least twenty seven injured.
