LNG scam: SC issues notices to Fauji Foundation, French co.

The Supreme Court has ordered Secretary Petroleum to hand over the complete record of the LNG contract to registrar and issued notices to Fauji Foundation and French companies.A three-member SC bench headed by Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the LNG scam in which millions of rupees have been embezzled. No representative of the petroleum ministry presented before the court. Upon this the CJ remarked that it seemed as if the ministry concerned is not interested in the case proceedings. Secretary Finance Salman Siddique filed the reply of former finance minister Shaukat Tarin in this regard. The court ordered Chairman Fauji Foundation Lt General (r) Hamid Rab Nawaz to appear before the court. The case has been adjourned till April 14.
