Summary Two 5 to 6 member committees are to be constituted for negotiating with PTI and PAT.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The advisor to the Prime Minister, Irfan Siddiqi said that the dialogues my start by the evening today.
Sources say that the committees to negotiate with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have been formulated. Federal ministers Saad Rafique and Ahsan Iqbal have been nominated to negotiate with PTI whereas Abdul Qadir Baloch and Irfan Siddiqi are to negotiate with PAT.
The government has requested Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and other political parties to submit names from their parties for the negotiation committees, sources added.
Khursheed Shah, Mahmood Achakzai, Liaquat Baloch and Hasil Bazinjo’s names are also being considered whereas Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan and Pervez Rashid would be assisting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the negotiation process.
Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the government will form two separate committees to negotiate with the leaderships of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). He told that the committees will comprise of all political parties.
Speaking to a press conference today (Sunday) in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the committees will have two members each from all political parties. He also informed that teh committees will start working from tomorrow.
Interior Minister said that government had allowed the PTI and PAT workers to lead their marches to ISlamabad despite having an order from Lahore High Court. He said that if the government wanted to stop them, the LHC decision had provided the government with a reason but still government refrained from any administrative action.
Criticizing the low number of people in the rally, Chaudhry Nisar said that it was not government s fault.
Moreover, Interior Minister informed that there were genuine threats of terrorism and the government was not playing any politics. He said that security agencies belonged to military and those security threats were communicated to the government and the marchers by those very security agencies.
Commenting on Chairman PTI Imran Khan s remarks about breaking into Red Zone, Chaudhry Nisar said that there are some extremely sensitive buildings, installations and institutions in the Red Zone. "Red Zone is not a Pakistan Muslim League (N) office. There are some of the most sensitive institutions in the Red Zone including embassies of other countries, PM House, Election Commission Office and several other sensitive institutions", said Nisar.
He said that Pakistan was a nuclear state and the PTI and PAT should refrain from making a mockery out of Pakistan.
Interior Minister informed that about Rs. 1 billion had already been spent on security of the revolution March of PAT and Azadi March of PTI. He said that he has been in the opposition for six times and in government for five times. "Being or not being in government did not matter for me", said Interior Minister.
Criticizing Imran Khan s announcement of Civil Disobedience Movement, PML-N stalwart from Taxila said that civil disobedience mevements were run in countries under foreign occupation. He said that civil disobedience movements hurt the state, not the government.
“Imran Khan has named me several times during his speech but I will not respond because I do not want to create new problems for Pakistan”, said Chaudhry Nisar.
“Government has decided to form two separate committees to negotiate with the PAT and PTI”, said Nisar. “These committees will be joint committees of all political parties”, he informed. These committees will start working from tomorrow. "Only negotiations are the way forward", said Nisar.
