PTI core committee advises Imran not to join TTP talks committee

Summary Imran Khan's party has strongly backed talks with the Taliban.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) core committee has advised Imran Khan that he should not become member of the dialogue committee proposed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Dunya News reported.

PTI chairman Imran Khan chaired party’s core committee meeting in Islamabad today (Monday).

The meeting was attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Asad Umar, Arif Alvi, Jahangir Tarin, Fauzir Qasuri, Ijaz Chaudhry and other senior leaders of the party.

PTI members welcomed the move and assured full support to the government and Taliban to make the dialogue process successful.

The team named by the Taliban on Saturday comprises Imran Khan, the chief cleric of Islamabad s Red Mosque, Maulana Abdul Aziz, and three top religious party leaders - Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, Mufti Kifayatullah and Prof Ibrahim Khan.
