MUMBAI (Web Desk) - Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster movie "Pathaan" has added another feather to its cap by becoming the first Hindi film to premiere in Bangladesh after the partition in 1971.
The movie is set to get a theatrical release in Bangladesh on May 12th, marking a significant achievement for the Bollywood industry.
Nelson D'Souza, the Vice President of International Distributions, shared the news and expressed his excitement for the release of the movie in Bangladesh.
He said, "Cinema has always been a unifying force between nations, races and cultures. It transcends borders, galvanizes people and plays a significant hand in bringing people together."
D'Souza also thanked the authorities in Bangladesh for granting permission to release the movie in the country. He revealed that Shah Rukh Khan has a massive fan following in Bangladesh, which prompted them to release the latest superhit film in the country.
"We have learned over the years that Shah Rukh Khan has tremendous fan following in Bangladesh, and we feel Pathaan, our latest offering from YRF's Spy Universe, is the perfect first film of SRK & Hindi cinema to release in the country and represent Indian culture and cinema in its full glory," he added.
The movie "Pathaan" is directed by Siddharth Aanad and features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film took the Indian box office by storm by collecting more than INR 1000 crore globally, as reported by News 18.
The release of "Pathaan" in Bangladesh is expected to attract a large audience and pave the way for more Hindi films to premiere in the country. The movie's success is a testament to the unifying power of cinema, which transcends boundaries and brings people together.
