Summary Media reports claimed that PadMan has not been issued clearance certificate from the censor board
(Web Desk) – Akshay Kumar and Sonam Kapoor starrer Bollywood starrer PadMan has not been issued clearance certificate from the censor board and is likely to remain banned in Pakistan, media reports claimed on Saturday.
After its big release on February 9, the Indian film suffered major setback from the neighbouring country where the censor board looks reluctant to allow the release. Both provincial and federal censor boards have denied issuing no-objection certificate (NOC) to screen PadMan, according to The Express Tribune.
The Bollywood flick showcases taboo topic of women menstruation awareness and is based on the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham – a social activist who introduced low-cost sanitary pads in the localities of Tamil Nadu.
Here is what the Twitterati have to say:

Padman being banned in Pakistan is another example of how our country is being run by uneducated man-babies and ridiculously self-hating women.

I don’t know how he censor board in Pakistan came to the conclusion that Pakistani women don’t menstruate. This ban on #Padman was completely uncalled for. https://t.co/R728wiMtzY

The movie directed by R. Balki it stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.
It is worth mentioning that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmaavat was allowed to release by the censor board despite criticism of distorting historical facts. The social activists and Pakistani film producers often criticise the film distributors for purchasing Bollywood movies that are against the local culture and traditions.
