Shoaib Malik to play 250th ODI against SL today, Sania wishes him luck

Sania Mirza has reached Cardiff to watch the match live and to support her husband.

CARDIFF (Dunya News) – Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik is all set to play 250th one-day international (ODI) match of his career against Sri Lanka today (Monday) in ICC Champions Trophy, and his wife, Sania Mirza, has wished him luck for the game.

Sania Mirza has reached Cardiff to watch the match live and to support her husband. She expressed her views in an interview and said, “This achievement shows Shoaib’s commitment to Pakistan and to cricket, and I have always known him to be someone with full of passion for playing and representing his country. It is a very proud moment, not only for him, but for everyone including his mother, his siblings and myself. I am very proud of him for everything that he has achieved, and I wish him all the best.”

The Indian tennis star, who comes out quite often on tour to support Shoaib Malik, further added that it is “good change for me to watch some cricket as well. I love cricket, I love watching it. I saw the last live match when Pakistan beat South Africa.” She said she will watch Pakistan’s match against Sri Lanka also.

Let it be known that Shoaib Malik has appeared in 249 ODI matches, and scored 6742 runs with the help of nine centuries and 39 fifties. The all-rounder has also picked up 153 wickets with best bowling figures of 4/19.

The match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the Cardiff Wales Stadium at 02:30 PM (PST).
