MIRPUR (AJK), (Dunya News) - The convoy of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir prime minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas came under an armed attack by unidentified assailants in Tain Dhalkot town of Rawalakot district on Friday.
The incident occurred when Sardar Tanveer Ilyas’ convoy was passing through an area of the Poonch Division. Unidentified individuals reportedly opened indiscriminate fire on the convoy, resulting in the death of one security guard at the spot and injuries to several others.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
Sources stated that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was traveling in a bulletproof vehicle at the time of the attack and remained unharmed. Initial reports suggest that the assault was carried out in a well-coordinated manner. However, following a prompt response by security personnel, the attackers managed to flee the scene.
